Meet Schedule
September-December 2012
This year Sequoia will have two meet schedules. One from 8 and under through middle school (Age Group) and one for high school age swimmers (Senior). This is to give the high school age swimmers much better competition with other swimmers their own age. Some of the meets we will all be together.
Age Group
- September 22-23 - Santa Rosa
- October 20-21 - Orinda
- November 9-11 - Carson City (Travel Meet)
- November 16-18 - Walnut Creek (non-travelers)
- November 30-December 2 - JOs in Morgan Hill (qualifiers)
- December 7-9 - Santa Rosa
High School (Group V and qualifiers from Group IV)
- October 6-7 - Marin Pirates in Indian Valley
- October 20-21 - Orinda
- November 9-11 - Carson City
- December 7-9 - Walnut Creek
All the meets have a cap on the number of swimmers so sign up as soon as the meet opens. If you wait the meet can fill up. The meet sheets will be available on line at pacswim.org. Visit How to Enter a Meet for more information.
The meets are not mandatory but strongly encouraged. The swimmers remain motivated to practice when they know they will be racing. Improving times gives them goals. The camaraderie of being on a team is strengthened in competition. The kids hang out with each other and cheer for each other at the meets. Finally, USA Swimming has a large variety of events which gives the swimmers a chance to try new things and find new talents to broaden their swimming horizons.
